For example, control eating habits, exercise regularly, so not smoke and go for medical checkup. Result shows that, from 2001 to 2007, the death rates for all types of cancer drop by 1.9 % a year in men and by 1.5 % a year in women. This is a good proof to everyone to start the cancer prevention. What is cancer?Cancer is a type of diseases caused by the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells. These types of cancerous cells will spread from one site to the other sites in the body. Cancer has been reported to be the leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for approximately 13% of total deaths in 2007. There are more than 100 different types of cancer in the world. Most of them are named according to the organ or cell where the cancer originated from. The stomach
The stomach is located at the upper abdomen which is between theoesophagus and the duodenum. It plays an important role in the digestive system. When food enters the stomach through oesophagus, the stomach releases the protein-digesting enzymes and also hydrochloric acid, which killsbacteria and so maintain the acidity in the stomach. The stomach mixes the food by muscular contractions. Then, the stomach will take up to one hour time to digest the food into chyme. The stomach is so important to us, therefore we should take good care on it.

 Gastric cancer (Stomach cancer)
Gastric cancer is also known as stomach cancer. It is originated from the abnormal and uncontrolled growth of cells in the stomach. These growing cells will form tumor and next it will lead to peptic ulcer disease (PUD). Peptic ulcers are caused by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, H. pylori, or due to malignancy. These types of cancer can spread to other parts of body, such as lungs, colon, liver, pancreas, and even ovary. According to the research done in Malaysia, gastric cancer was the 7th most common cancer in males; and the 10th most common cancer in females. In 2008, it was estimatedthat 13,190 men and 8,310 women in the United States will be diagnosed with stomach cancer. It was estimated that 10,880 deaths (6,450 men and 4,430 women) from this disease will occur in that year. The percentage of patients with stomach cancer who survive for at least five years after the cancer is detected is about 24%. In most cases, the stomach cancer is detected after the cancerous cells have already migrated to other parts of the body. If stomach cancer is found before it has spread, the five-year relative survival rate can be up to about 61%. Therefore, a regular body checkup is necessary.Statistics adapted from the American Cancer Society's publication, Cancer Facts & Figures 2008.
